Information
The San Andreas EMS Agency is empowered by Chapter II of the Health and Safety Code of San Andreas as the sole agency to oversee all relevant functions relating to emergency medical services within the jurisdiction of San Andreas State. Functions of the agency include:
- Regulation and oversight of the EMS system within San Andrea, including the EMS-related functions of all agencies that choose to participate.
- Issuing licenses to operate as a prehospital care provider in San Andreas.
- Investigating complaints and, if deemed necessary, taking disciplinary action against EMS personnel from any authorized agency operating within the jurisdiction of San Andreas.
- Publishing legally binding treatment guidelines and protocols for authorized prehospital providers to follow.
- Establishing and publishing the scopes of practice of different levels of prehospital providers.
- Regulation and oversight of EMS education providers within San Andreas.
- Conducting studies relating to prehospital medicine in San Andreas.

Limited Basic Life Support (LBLS): An agency that is authorized to provide care at the limited BLS (MSO) level.
Basic Life Support (BLS): An agency that is authorized to provide care at the BLS (EMT) level.
Advanced Life Support (ALS): An agency that is authorized to provide care at the ALS (Paramedic) level.
Ground Ambulance (GA): An agency that is authorized to provide ground ambulance services.
Air Ambulance (AA): An agency that is authorized to provide air ambulance services.
In order to provide care at a level for which a specific agency has been authorized, an employee of that agency must be individually licensed in San Andreas at or above that specific level of care in addition to being explicitly authorized by their agency to provide those services.

(PREHOSPITAL) Medical review board
The (Prehospital) Medical Review Board is the body that is ultimately responsible for voting on the most serious matters pertaining to the EMS system and the functions of the agency. While not all action taken by the agency is the result of a vote undertaken by the board, all licensees are entitled to the right to appeal any decisions made by the agency to the board. Licensees are entitled to an appeal regardless of if the original action was the result of a full vote by the board, or immediate action taken by or on behalf of the EMS Medical Director.
